In Darjeeling district of west Bengal state Mirik is an excellent tourist spot and almost a new hill resort, situated at just mid way of Siliguri and Darjeeling by another some longer route. Mirik is a tiny picturesque place, now in fame for it’s main attraction 1.25 km long and approx depth of 8 meter “Sumendu Lake’’ locally called Mirik Lake. In the middle of lake crossed over 25 meter long beautiful arch bridge connected with East and western bank of lake. One can enjoy walking on the bridge over the lake, also can feed to the fish’s in the lake but fishing is strictly prohibited. There is a beautiful trail at the slop of western bank of lake under the canopy of evergreen trees of Cryptomaria – japonica, it is a spot of numbers of cinema shooting. Climate is pleasant almost through out the year. Mirik is surrounded by well-manicured lush green tea gardens, Orange orchard’s , Big cardamom grove, One can enjoy this place for a day excursion from Darjeeling or Siliguri, as picnic spot, or spent some day’s at leisure in a Really calm and quite atmosphere away from the velocity of city life.

A 3.5 km. zig-zag footwalk takes you along the lake – a sleek foot bridge connects the garden on the east with the woods on the west. Alone or in company, you are sure to enjoy a boat-ride in the lake.
Sillery is a newly discovered offbeat destination which is popular among those who like to enjoy the charm off Mt Kanchenjunga as a backdrop of lush green deep pine forest along with different species of flora and fauna. The village is nestled at an altitude of 6000ft in the Kalimpong subdivision of Darjeeling district. The word ‘Sillery’ or ‘Sillari’ comes the name of a tree which grows abundant in this place.. The ancient silk route, which went through Pedong, is only 6km away from Sillerygaon. At Sillery you can feel that you are in the midst of nature far away from the maddening life of cities. During sunrise Mt Kanchenjunga can be seen very clearly from here, which makes it an ideal location for photography.

Loleygaon (in local dialect, means a happy village) is a small tiny village, located in the kalimpong Sub Division of Darjeeling District and one of the most beautiful place in the Darjeeling village tourism. One can cover this place on foot in barely couple of minutes!!! Tourist will be blessed by a giant statue of Lord Buddha in the Eco Tourism Park when you enter Loleygaon.
